Stylish Black Beanie with Pom Pom

I know I have already shared my basic black beanie. Thought I would share a more updated/stylish take to the classic.

As you can see, this hat fits tightly, and it is very cozy. Originally, I was going to just add a black pom pom, but I am so glad that I went with the gray. I am in love with the contrast that it creates.

To get the tighter fit, I used size 7 circle needles and cast on 55 stitches. Knitted the first round. To create the hat band, I k2, p2 for 8 rows. I then just continued to knit until I had 6 inches from the top of the band. It's important to make sure that you measure from the top of the band - this will make sure that the hat is big enough for most adults. Once I reached 6 inches, I began to decrease.
