Handknit Striped Hat

It is the fifth day of 2015, and I am pretty proud to say that I have two hats completed. A great way to start the year, if I do say so myself. The first was a purple cable knit moss hat for my friend Stephanie. I've made this hat about six times now, and I really love this pattern and the way that seed/moss stitch turns out (when you alternate pearling and stitching). Just such a cool detail that creates an almost bumpy appearance. The pattern is from Cedar Box Knits. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to snap a picture of it.

The second is this beauty below. I didn't follow any pattern, but I was most certainly inspired by Eve and Love Co. and the lovely Instagram feed over there. I know I've mentioned it already, but it is worth mentioning twice for sure.

I am keeping this one for myself... only the second time I have done so!  Do you like the striped look?  What about the little white details at the top? Due to some of the feedback on Instagram, I am thinking that this style may just be the first addition to my in-development etsy shop!
