Welcome to the first day of June! January gets all of the credit when it comes to resolutions and goals. Sure it’s the start of a new year, but the start of the summer usually has me more inspired than the beginning the year. With that in mind, I’d decided I’d set some summer resolutions.
Run a 300 Mile Summer
Say what? I know it sounds ridiculous, but from June 1st to the very end of August, I am going to try to run 300 miles total. It’s doable, I promise. I actually did way back in high school, right before my senior year. Unsurprising, I was in the best shape I have ever been in. It was actually an optional “challenge” that our cross country coach at the time encouraged. It really improved my running, and since a lot of my friends were doing it too, it seemed like a great idea. And to be honest, it really was a great idea. It was a lot of fun, and we even got a shirt for completing the challenge. While there isn’t a shirt on the line this time, I am going to find some other reward for myself (oh hey long-lusted after Kate Spade everything) if I can complete this challenge.
Or at least garden as much as I can. My sisters and my mom have the most amazing gardens I have ever seen. I haven’t dabbled in it at all. Still, if I have received even 1/10 of the green thumb that they all seem to have, I think I will be good! We don’t have a lot of space for it, but I am hoping to get a few planters and use them to plant tomatoes, green peppers, and maybe even some basil!
Get Better at Sewing
I don't want to just have my sewing machine start collecting dust. I'm hoping to get better and more confident with sewing.
Save for Traveling
I haven't done any traveling in a really long time. It's something that is really important to me, but it's just hard with budgeting and something (like two root canals and dental crowns) always seems to come up instead. Hopefully this summer I can start saving more so that I can travel to Europe with my sister next September.
Take a Photography Class
I would really love to learn how to best use my DSLR, especially when it comes to learning more about manual mode.
So there you have it - my goals for the summer! Please help hold me accountable for these :) And please feel free to share any of your own summer resolutions.
