West Elm Milwaukee Store Preview

I was incredibly excited when West Elm reached out to me and invited me to attend a store preview for the new location in Milwaukee. As one of my favorite furniture brands ever, West Elm never lets me down - and the store preview was no exception. It's also the first and only location in Wisconsin which is reason enough for all of us to celebrate! I thought I'd dedicate today's post to showcasing some of the highlights of the store preview.

Local Makers from Wisconsin

One big reason why I love West Elm is their dedication to supporting local artists and creators. Collaboration, not competition, is the value here, and it shows in the beautifully styled display for the Wisconsin makers. These pieces are all lovely and hand-crafted. Some are just so... Wisconsin that it makes me happy.

Emphasis on Customization

There is no "dictates of design" at West Elm - a phrase that I love. It's part of the reason why the brand rarely features sets, instead allowing you to mix and match pieces to create your own look that showcases your own personal style. You'll see this reflected in the store design, too - both the wall behind the register (with the brand name) and the register counter are two custom-made pieces just for the Milwaukee West Elm location.

The Furniture

This is probably obvious, but their furniture pieces are just gorgeous. They feature a blend of mid century modern, rustic, and glam pieces for every room of your home. Many of the products are also organically made, with some, like the hand-woven rugs, being Fair Trade Certified. This makes a huge impact - which is something that consumers can feel great about.

The Details

I think Charles Eames said it best: "The details are not the details. They make the design."

I am especially in love with the blue waterscape vases. They are just so eye-catching.

Believe me when I say that this isn't even half of it! The visual team at West Elm did an amazing job, and everything is just beautiful - worth the look!

Don't forget to stop in and take a look for yourself - today is the grand opening! You'll find it in Milwaukee's Third Ward at 342 N. Water St. Ste. 100.

Happy shopping and browsing!
