April Reads: Books to Add to Your Bookshelf
While probably not the most "home-like" of my posts, I always do like to share what I am reading as it 1) helps me stay accountable for the New Years Resolution that I set for 2016 and 2) helps to give you ideas on not only what to read next, but also which books to add to your bookshelf. Because if flowers are the best piece of home decor, books are a close second! Here's what I'm reading this month:
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
I've had this book for some time and I remember attempting to read it when I was much younger and not really getting into it or liking it. I am not sure why this was the case as I am now on Chapter 8, and I think I am going to absolutely love it. It's surprisingly really funny - like laugh out loud funny - which just isn't something I was expecting from a book with more of a Sci-Fi vibe. I also got the audio book so that I can listen to it before and after work - and it is such a fun book to listen to!
Portrait in Sepia by Isabel Allende
I have yet to read any Isabel Allende, which probably makes me seriously behind the times. I am not sure how this books ranks among all of her other work, but I am excited to give it a shot.
Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel
This is a historical novel that focuses on the rise and fall of Thomas Cromwell. I, like seemingly most of the world, find Henry VIII to be incredibly interesting, so I think that this novel will probably be pretty engrossing.
Have you read any of these? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
