You guys, Christmas is almost here! I am extra excited about it this year, due to the fact that I have some time off between Christmas and New Year's. Since we only have a few more days to get everything together, I spent a good chunk of time this weekend wrapping presents - that is, when I wasn't catching up with my sister and brother-in-law, who are in from out of town.
When it comes to wrapping presents, I will take all of the help I can get. Since I am a Darby Smart Designer (you can see all of my designs and follow me here), I recently received a gift wrapping kit, courtesy of Darby Smart and GAP, and am happy to report that it made wrapping presents about 100 times more fun. Cutest gift tags ever! There is even a wooden gift tag to make someone's gift extra special.
Here is a present that I wrapped for my niece, using the awesome kit created by Darby Smart in collaboration with GAP. She is super into fashion right now - so I felt some glittering details would be appreciated.
I wrapped the present in some of the brown paper wrapping provided in the kit. Next, I added some stripes, using the kit's silver glitter tape - a truly fun touch that I know my niece will love. Next up, I used the red and white ribbon to literally and figuratively tie it all together, including an attached gift tag.
I also have to say that I love the trend of brown paper wrapping. Reminds me of The Sound of Music every time ("Brown paper packages tied up with string!") There's also just something so perfectly neutral and simple about the look of them. Plus, with the simple brown paper as a back drop, the ribbon does all of the talking, which is probably preferable anyway!
Sometimes, simple is best. Special thanks to Darby Smart and GAP for providing the Darby Designers with some truly awesome products - loved working with this one.
