November: Life Lately
First things first - hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving! I spent time with family and enjoyed some good food and some long runs. Maybe a month ago, I injured myself during a run - still not sure exactly what happened, but my piriformis muscle has been sore ever since, causing some pressure on my sciatic nerve. I have been stretching like a mad woman, but definitely need to go to a chiropractor more/get more massages and do more hot yoga to help with it. It doesn't bother me too much while running, but my whole left leg does throb a bit after my runs, unfortunately. Really hope it heals quickly, as I have been trying to take it easy.
I have a big change to share. I have a new job! I have officially left my social media role at Kohler. I am so grateful for the experience I gained there. Truly, no day was ever the same, whether I was traveling and covering the company's presence at Bonnaroo (a music festival in the middle of nowhere in Tennessee) or if I was working with the creative team to capture content. And while I am speaking about creative, I am also incredibly grateful for being able to work with AMAZING creative like the above photo of the table spread (featuring the top of my head!) and the below photo of my favorite sink ever. I'm also grateful I got to meet, work with and learn from a handful of kind, smart and driven people who really truly became friends. Saying goodbye is always tough, but I am excited and ready for a new adventure.
And just what is this new adventure? I will be working at Stella and Chewy's, a pet food brand that is dedicated to pet wellness and raw nutrition. To say that I am excited is an understatement. I have been a huge fan of the brand ever since I first adopted Reggie. There, I will be focusing on social media and digital content in a dog-friendly office. It's quite a change from luxury plumbing products, but one that I am really looking forward to. On the plus side, my commute has been cut in half which I am thinking is really going to help with this whole work/life balance thing.
I am hoping that, with a job a bit closer to home, I can establish more of a schedule for meal prepping, workouts, etc. I always felt so all over the place, and I think so much of it was tied to the 2 hours I spent in a car every. single. day. In addition to managing social media, I will also be helping Stella and Chewy's get their blog started and be one of the writers behind that. I'm excited to be going back to more long form writing and will be sure to share links as posts come out - stay tuned!
Thanks for reading and have a great rest of your week!
